GJC from Kyoto, JapanWhat an amazing image. The forms are so interesting. I might have moved just a little to the left so that the cross at the top of the road church wouldn't be obscured by the trees. The colors are very nice. 25 Mar 2008 6:03am Paul van der Meer from Valkenswaard, Netherlandsreally Greece, very beautiful and strong colors! 25 Mar 2008 6:48am Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaOh Yiannis, I am so impressed I don't know what to say... 25 Mar 2008 9:54am Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesBeautiful, deep saturation! Evokes a sense of hopefulness in spite of the starkness. Excellent image, Yiannis. 25 Mar 2008 11:31am paulski from Muncie, United Stateswhat an odd, unreal looking little structure. great image! 25 Mar 2008 12:47pm Sandrine from Cincinnati, United StatesVery interesting and cute little Church... What is it used for? Do people stop and pray there? 25 Mar 2008 1:03pm @Sandrine: these little road churches are made by people they had an traffic accident at that place, and they make this to thank god for beeind alive Daina from United StatesImpressive tones and color. The falling tree behind the church adds a bit of disquiet. 25 Mar 2008 1:52pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomI like the windswept harshness to the land around the little church. A striking image, made more so by the lonliness of the landscape 25 Mar 2008 4:34pm danthro from Suburbia, United Statesgreat composition and muted color. i'd never heard of these road churches before. can a person even fit inside of it? it looks so small. 25 Mar 2008 4:39pm @danthro: no you can not go in - they are very small just some pictures and a candle - see and tomorrows post and this: http://krikis.aminus3.com/portfolio/59.html sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesVery unique and something I've never seen before. I like how you've desaturated this. 25 Mar 2008 4:49pm amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaExcellent image, yiannis! Love the muted tones and of course that mood you're always so great at setting. 25 Mar 2008 5:12pm Oswegan from Lake Oswego, United StatesThis building is very interesting, great capture here. It could double as a roadside coffee stand. 25 Mar 2008 8:30pm elaine from paris, FranceWhat are these raod churches for? they look great, love the atmosphere 26 Mar 2008 12:48pm @elaine: these little road churches are made by people they had an traffic accident at that place, and they make this to thank god for beeind alive Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomAn exceptional find and, again, so lovingly presented. 26 Mar 2008 12:51pm alex centrella from Califronia, United Statesgreat image, love the unique style you have.. 26 Mar 2008 6:32pm Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaMarvelous shot, after reading your response to Elaine, the shot is so much more poignant. 26 Mar 2008 7:16pm Anangeli from Simi Valley, United StatesExcellent! It looks very small. I see no one sees it as I see it. Is it a make believe church (toy) or a real building where you can go in.... 26 Mar 2008 10:09pm Barbara from Florida, United StatesMagnificent image and processing. I never knew what to call these when in Greece. I like "Road Church" It was amazing when I first saw how many there were. This shot is very well done, although if it was possible at the time I would have framed it so the tree was off to the side not out of the roof. Only a thought. 27 Mar 2008 3:18am Will from Gainesville, United Statesgreat shot...love the textures, colors and details...especially the trees:) 28 Mar 2008 3:08am |
